Although Fedgroup holds numerous financial licences and offers a variety of regulated financial products, the Impact Farming product line falls outside these licences and is therefore not a regulated offering.
While Impact Farming is currently unregulated, the COFI framework is expected to be introduced in South Africa in Cabinet by late 2025 and enacted sometime in 2026, with a gradual roll-out thereafter. Under this new framework, Impact Farming will likely fall within the regulated environment. We’ve designed the product with those standards in mind, so it is already structurally aligned and ready for when the regulation takes effect. Currently, we apply the same stringent standards, due diligence, and risk mitigation to this offering as we do to our regulated products.
It’s also worth noting that this is a higher-risk product. If you’re generally risk averse or you’re not quite sure how Impact Farming works, it may not be the right fit for you. And that’s perfectly okay! Choosing investments should feel comfortable and aligned with your objectives.
